The Plantation is a five-mile-long, gated, guarded-24/7, private community.  It is - in this homeowner's opinion - the most beautiful part of the island.  Only homeowners, renters, and their guests are permitted into this beautiful community, adding to your security during your stay.

The Plantation has a new, larger community pool (not shown), three sets of tennis courts, and a clubhouse for your pleasure. 

Bike or hike the 10+ miles of paved trails on the island, as well as miles of quiet streets in the Plantation or SGI State Park.

The Plantation also has many lush natural hiking trails leading from the beach into residential areas.

The "Cut" separates SGI from a beautiful uninhabited island.

This is a great spot to fish, or just watch dolphins.

Each day, several fishing trawlers come and go via the Cut.
